Another Spring is under way. As I write this it is raining and the spring trees are just starting to swell. Daffodils and tulips are breaking the soil and the early varieties are actually in bloom. Every spring we make changes in the nursery and this spring is no different. We are building new display areas to show new ideas and showcase interesting plants. We made a few changes in our pond planting area and a few additional changes in the bedding department. We are continuing our commitment to make idea shopping as easily as possible. Come in and see the new ideas we can implement in your garden. We can show you several paving projects, a pond waterfall and stacking block walls, all installed by the Garden Crew. When you come in we will also have displays showing the early spring flowering trees, shrubs and perennials. Remember you have to come in to know what you are missing during the year. If you only visit in April and May your garden likely will look its best then. At home the Garden Crew just finished a small paving project in our small back yard. we also installed a raised planter and plan to reface the fence to create a courtyard look. As the planting gets done I will post some pictures at scenicnursery.com. Our fruit bushes are budding out and I might get a crop this year. (That means one or two peaches that Donna and I can divide and share). They are doing great and in a couple of years we will have enough to share with friends and family. Our winter vegetable garden is doing only OK. I have to remember what I tell my customers about extra fertilizer when you add lots of humus to the soil. Donna and I are finalizing our plans for the mound in front of our future front courtyard. Tentatively we are thinking of a gate from the street and an arbor and gate over the mound into the fruit tree area. We expect to add a collection of Japanese Maples, azaleas, camellias and ferns |
