Donna and I are continuing to work on landscaping our yard. The fence is 75% finished and most of the permanent shrubs and trees are in. The walk way is mostly finished and we are starting to build a retaining wall in the back of our mound for our new front courtyard.

Last weekend we removed our spring flowers and planted some crystal white and yellow zinnias. These are very different than the traditional zinnias. Mildew resistant. spreading and heavy blooming. Donna and I love them. We also planted some of the new vinca colors, new Salsito zinnias dwarf asters and some perennial guara. In addition we have planted some impatiens, torennia, and coleus. As they get established I will post some pictures of how they are doing.

As the shrubs and trees develop we will be planting less and less annuals. The idea is to leave lots of room for the shrubs to grow so I don’t have to control them all the time.

No Horti–torture in my yard!!
