this
summer Donna and I planted a small vegetable garden in our front yard.
We decided to plant a few unusual vegetables and we Included an
eggplant from Scenic Nursery specialty vegetables. Every year the staff
at the nursery select some interesting vegetables including tomatoes,
peppers and eggplant. I decided to plant a couple of Eggplant including
Puangyok Thai Pea Eggplant.
You can see why its called a "pea" eggplant. I guess that is to be expected. What I didn't expect is the size of this thing. It grew and grew and grew with not a sign of a flower. It was over seven feet tall at the first sign of a flower bud.
I have to say that there are at least one hundred eggplant fruits on the plant. Unfortunately none are ripe and it is mid November!! |
