Although spring is still officially almost 2 weeks away, it's beginning to feel a lot like spring here at the nursery. The first of the warm weather brings out a level of excitement that is almost palpable; from the employees, as the new plant shipments begin arriving; from our customers, who are eager to begin planning and planting their spring gardens after a cold winter and even from the flocks of finches that have busied themselves feeding and chattering in the gingko tree outside our office door.

Spring blooming trees are budded and blooming; we have many lovely deciduous magnolia varieties, including pink 'Alexandrina' and 'Randy' saucer magnolias as well as 'Elizabeth' and 'Butterflies', both of which bear buttery yellow blooms.

New arrivals this week include the first of our heirloom tomatoes, including 'Green Zebra', 'Brandywine', 'Mortgage Lifter', and'Cherokee Purple'. Our warm weather annuals have also starting arriving; petunias and lobelia are here, and we expect our impatiens to arrive this Friday. We are increasing our selection of 4 inch perennials, and plan to expand our offering of 'Annie's Annuals and Perennials'.

We have a full schedule of informative seminars and demonstrations planned for this spring; so be sure to check out our Calendar of Events as well as our Children's Garden calender. We hope to see you here!
