Bedding Plant Planting Guide |
|
|
- Rule 1: Water plants and soil before starting. This is
important to get good soil contact between the bedding packs, and the
soil in your yard.
- Rule 2: Work up the soil together with Master
Nursery Paydirt at 1 bag per 50 sq ft. It is also a good idea to mix
MasterStart Pre-Plant Fertilizer in as well. This will give the plants
a good boost from the start, which is especially important with
short-lived annuals.
- Rule 3: Plant at the correct depth; plant so
the top of the root ball is visible after planting. Firm the soil
around the root ball. This is important also helps ensure good soil
contact, and gets rid of any air pockets that may kill of root hairs.
- Rule 4: Water thoroughly after planting (20-45 minutes).
- Rule 5: A 1” mulch of Gold Rush over the soil will keep the roots cool and moist, and stop weeds from coming through.
