Bleeding
heart is one of the old favorite perennials for spring color. It makes
spectacular spikes of beautiful pink blooms in the spring. The problem
in our area is the short bloom season and worse, the fact it isw very
short lived here. Seldom do they last beyond 3 years or so.
Several years ago we started carrying a hybrid called Luxurient
Bleeding Heart. Over the years I have become more and more convinced
that it is a valuable replacement for the regular Bleeding Heart. It
blooms all spring and summer, It looks good all spring and summer and
it takes the heat here well. It does prefer some more sun or at least
brighter shade. I do have to say that I prefer the color of the regular
bleeding heart. The long bloom season and longevity of luxurient more
than makes up the difference. this is a nice addition to the bright
shade garden.
Come in and take a look.
