Every
Fall about this time we go down to the growing fields in Wasco and
bring back samples of the new introductions for our staff and customers
to view.
This is your oportunity to see the actual flowers of the new AARS
winners. These are varieties that have gone through a 2 year period of
evaluation by rose expertsd in rose gardens across the US.
Our show will be Saturday and Sunday September 18 and 19 all day.
This year the AARS winners include Elle a shell pink and Ivory
bicolor.. This has a strong spice fragrance. Elle came from the Meiland
Rose Company in France.
About Face is a grandiflora golden orange inside with a bronzy red
outside. As the best grandifloras are this is bushy growing and very
free flowering. About Face is fron Weeks Roses and Tom Carruth. Tom and
I have known each other since he first started working for Weeks about
20 years.

Two shrub roses for the landscape won AARS awards. first is Lady
Elsie May a coral colored semi double It is a medium sized mounding
plant that is distinctly disease resistant.
The second shrub rose is DayDream. Thbis has large clusters of
semi-double lavender pink blooms aon arching canes. This is a wonderful
flowering space filler where you have room.
Other new roses we expect to have available to see include Volupuous
the J & P Rose of the year. Inb addition we will have a number of
other new and established varieties to see.
We also will have our Demo roses available to see. Every year our
suppliers give us some samples of the new roses they are introducing so
we and you have a chance to ess them
At the Rose exhibition we will have our pre-season order form so you
can pre-order roses and get the cream of the3 crop. when pre-pain you
receive a 10% discount.
